CARPET FILTRATION LINESThose ugly black lines around the baseboards and under doorways.
How to Care for Carpet Filtration Lines
Are you experiencing dark lines on your carpets? If it’s occurring under doors or close to baseboards or furniture, it’s probably filtration soiling. It generally happens as air passes through small cracks and deposits dirt there over time.
You can hardly ever see it coming.
This type of soiling is difficult to remove because the soil particles are so fine that they penetrate deep into the carpet pile, sometimes into the backing of the carpet.
Honestly, it can’t always be removed. With special products, time and effort, reasonable results can be achieved. To help prevent filtration soiling, vacuum and wipe the edges of the carpeting on a regular basis.
